Fashion’s biggest night of the year returned on Monday following a year off courtesy of the pandemic, and your favorite celebs did not disappoint. This year’s theme was ‘In America: A Lexicon Of Fashion,’ and as always, it garnered a mixed response...but you already knew that. If your Instagram feed looks anything like ours, you’ve likely already been bombarded with the best and worst fashion moments of the night, so we’re here to talk beauty.
The industry’s most talented artists showed up to pull together some of our favorite looks, and you best believe we took notes. Although there was a vast array of trends and techniques on display, there were a few we haven’t been able to stop thinking about...
Neon Eyes
Neon green eyeliner is not something we saw ourselves loving, but these ladies have us converted!
Emma Chamberlain
The internet’s sweetheart Miss Emma Chamberlain was breathtaking in Louis Vuitton, and her stunning, 60’s inspired glam was the cherry on top.
Whitney Peak
Actress Whitney Peak looked striking - her neon, bedazzled liner perfectly framed by big hair and a neutral lip.
Bleached brows
We’ve seen this trend take over TikTok over the last few months, and now it’s made its way onto the red carpet.
Maisie Williams
Game of Throne’s Maisie Williams was virtually unrecognizable with bleached brows, a vampy lip, and artsy eyeliner. It’s giving Queen of Hearts meets goth grunge, and we’re 100% here for it.
Hailee Steinfield
Actress Hailee Steinfield also looked like an entirely different person, trading her signature long hair and dark features for bleached brows and a blonde bob. Finished with a nude lip, she was giving pale ice queen energy,y and again, we’re here for it.
Gems
There was no shortage of crystal embellishments this year - ie, Kendell Jenner and Zoe Kravitz. But when it comes to beauty, no one did it better than Poet and national treasure Amanda Gorman.
Amanda Gorman
Her star-spangled glam was both breathtaking and on point with the theme. Her team kept it simple with glowy skin and a neutral lip, allowing the stunning constellation of gems that decorated her eyes and forehead to do all the talking.
Old Hollywood
No homage to American fashion would be complete without some classic Old Hollywood glam.
Megan Thee Stallion
Megan looked perfect, and that’s all we have to say. The side-swept hair? The soft winged liner? The juicy, ombre lips? 10/10.
Paloma Elsesser
Model Paloma Elsesser was a sight for sore eyes in red, with this pin-up meets Old Hollywood look. The buffed-out eye shadow and pointed lips are everything.
